Question: What is the point in life if you are going to die anyway? I am 16.
This is a question that was asked on Quora.com
Here is my answer (slighted edited)
Answer: Yes you will die eventually, but it is not about when or how you will die, it is about how you live your life. Many people live their lives reckless because they do not believe that their lives have meaning, or they say something just like you did “What is the point in life if you are going to die anyway?” so they live their lives without adding any value to live, just being another statistics. You were put on earth to make life better, to add value.
Each one of us were put on earth to fulfill a divine purpose, to leave our footprint. Your life is not meaningless, you have a purpose and someone is depending on you to fulfill your purpose just like you are depending on your teachers to teach you so you can get a good job or start your own business, whatever it is you want to do with your life.
There is a divine assignment on your life, I don’t care who you are, what your experiences have been like, or how long you have to live on this earth, you have an assignment, you have a purpose.
You owe it to yourself to find that thing you were put on earth to do and pursue it with everything you have. You owe it to yourself and to God to fill your life with joy, happiness, fun and everything that makes life meaningful and joyful. The only thing we can do with our lives is to fill it with things that really matters. You have only one life to live, make it count. The only thing we can do with our lives is to fill it with things that really matters. Click To Tweet
Here are my suggestions:
- Pursue your purpose. Your purpose maybe to inspire youths to find meaning and purpose in their lives and to pursue their purpose
- Live life to the fullness. Occupy your life with things and people that really matter and live it with joy and happiness everyday
- Build a relationship with your creator God because he created you so never forget your Creator and surround yourself with people that compliments you, stretch you (make you better), inspire and encourage you, and with people that love and believe in you. Remove any and all toxic people from your life, people that will drag you down instead of building you up.
- Live each day with meaning and as if it is your last (ask yourself, if today was my last day on earth, how would i want to live it? Will i want to live it being angry at my parents? will i want to live it doing meaningless task?)
