Taking Actions On Your Dreams and Goals Despite The Fear

Taking Actions On Your Dreams and Goals Despite The Fear

All of us were created with the wisdom, knowledge, skills, gifts/talents and the abilities to achieve our dreams and fulfill our purpose. I strongly believe that there is a divine assignment on your life, something(s) you were put on earth to do and if you are still alive that means that your job is not done, there is still work for you to do. Whatever your assignment is, you have what it takes to fulfill it, if you don’t already have the skills, knowledge, wisdom, talents or whatever it is you need, its on its way, but for the moment you already what you need to get to that next level.

However, many of you reading this article right now are not living up to your true potential. You are not moving towards your goals, dreams and that assignment that is upon your life and one of the biggest thing that is stopping many of you from going after our dreams and living our passion is the fear of failure because you think you are not good enough or will be good enough.

Fear have killed more dreams than anything else, many people die without realizing their full potential or birthing their dreams because they allow fear to rob them of their destiny.

Years ago I heard a quote by Motivational Speaker Les Brown that had a profound impact on my life it says:

““The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”- Les Brown

My question to you is, will you allow fear to stop you from living your dreams or will you be bold enough to go after your dreams and carry out the divine assignment that is on your life?

Never allow your past failures to keep you from your destiny. Many times when we are about to do something or thinking about doing something we remember the last time we tried something like this and failed, or we remember someone who did it and failed.

When you hold unto the stories of your past you do so at the expense of your destiny. You cannot energize your past and at the same time have the energy to energize your future. Your destiny is too important for you to allow the mistakes and failures of your past to keep you from your destiny.

By holding unto the stories of your past, your failures, what you are doing is idolizing your failures. If i were you, i would cast down every idol so that dream that i have i can give birth to it.

Today I want to challenge you to reawaken the inner child within you, to reawaken your passion, your desire, the child within you who weren’t afraid to dream, who went out to play with his friends and weren’t afraid to act crazy just because someone was watching, that child who didn’t care how many times he/she failed to achieve a certain task or fell down, but he always try again.

Life is like a cliff, lets imagine that I am standing at the edge of a cliff with my hands outstretch, my eyes close as I feel the winds beneath my wings, and to live my dreams I have to jump off the cliff, I am feeling the pull of my destiny pulling me forward, deep down inside I know I was created to achieve more, to be more, and I know that I have everything I need inside to live my dreams, but I am afraid to jump. I am afraid because of the stories I am telling myself, stories like:

I am not good enough

I don’t think I can do it

What if i fail?

It will not work

and so forth (feel comfortable to add your own story)

And these stories are keeping me from jumping as every time i go to the edge of the cliff I pull back, because I am afraid, I am afraid because of the stories I am telling myself.

Many of you are standing at the edge right now looking down, seeing others flying by but you are afraid to jump. You see them flying by and you wish it was you, wish you could have their houses, drive their cars, live the life you see them living, have that business, earning that amount of money, have a family……. but you will not jump and so you die silently. Understand this, when you get to the edge, your brain will always tell you to step back because you can fall, because the last time you did this, or maybe you saw someone did this they failed and it was painful, your brain will always come up with reasons why you should not jump, you don’t have the money, you are not good enough, you have a family to think of and so forth, your brain is designed to keep you safe, so you have to be willing to hold fear in one hand, and your dreams in another and jump.

There is only one of 3 things that can happen if you jump: your either going to jump and fly, or you jump and fall on something soft, or you are going to fall down hard, but either way you can get back up, you already know you have what it takes to get back up.

Do not wait for permission, many of you are waiting for permission, waiting for someone or God to tell you that you should jump, yes you can do it, know what you want and be bold enough to go after it. Courage is not the absent of fear, courage is feeling the fear and taking action despite of the fear.  Everyone who is living their dreams and everyone you admire are where they are today because they were willing enough to jump, to feel the fear and take action anyway.

Did they jump because they were not afraid?

Did they jump because they didn’t have doubts?

Did they jump because they didn’t have negative people telling them they cannot do it, it will never work, they don’t have what it takes?

Did they jump because they have something that you don’t have or they are from a special breed that you are not?

Of course not………..

They had fears

They had doubts

They had people criticizing them

Many times they felt as if their dreams will not come to past, but guess what? Despite of the critics, doubts, fears they took action.

What about you?

Always remember: You are enough and you will always be good enough. When you come from a place of “I am good enough” then you will start tapping into that inner strength that moves you to have the skills, resources and knowledge and boldness to do that thing you want to do
