7 Keys To Have a Positive Personality and Become the Best You

So how do we start to change the way we think, after all some of us have been thinking a certain way for most of our lives. We start by feeding our mind with positive things.

It is said that “Your mental diet largely determines your character and your personality and almost everything that happens to you in life.”

So how do I feed my mind or what is my mental diet?

Keep reading and I’ll explain…

Many of us daily feed our minds with things that doesn’t make our lives any better but with pure garbage: the latest gossip, daily dose of news, filthy conversation, filthy music and reading of filthy books. Put you put garbage in, what do you expect to get out? Garbage!

When you feed your mind with positive affirmations, information, books, conversations, audio programs, and thoughts, you develop a more positive attitude and personality, and thus you start changing your life.

By being more positive your performance will increase, your relationships will improve and your mood will be more positive even when things are not going so well in your life. Because you think positive, you will see opportunities where others see setbacks and obstacles.

In the long run you will become a better version of yourself and be more influential and persuasive. You enjoy greater confidence and self-esteem.

But with so much negativity we hear and see everyday, with all the obstacles and challenges we face on a daily, it is very hard to be positive. Each day you have to make a conscious deliberate decision that you are going to take complete control over your mind, that you are going to eliminate the negative emotions and thoughts that may have held you back in the past, and become a completely positive person, that you are going to feed your mind with inspirational and uplifting messages and very soon your life, work and relationships will be transform.

Mental fitness is like physical fitness. You develop high levels of self-esteem and a positive attitude with training and practice. Here are seven keys to becoming a whole new person, 7 steps to change your life:

1) Daily Positive Affirmations

Everyday, speak positive things to yourself, if not daily but as regular as positive. Not only speak positive things over your life, but listen to positive affirmations. You have to learn to control your inner dialog by using positive affirmations, e.g:

“I can overcome my challenges”

“I am important”

“I like myself!”

“I can do it!”

“I feel terrific!”

“I am responsible!”

It is said that 95% of our emotions are determined by the way we speak to ourselves as we go throughout our day. However, we have to deliberately and consciously talk to ourselves, if you do not do this then by default, you will focus on the negatives and speak them over our lives

Your mind is like a garden. If you do not deliberately plant flowers and tend carefully, weeds will grow without any encouragement at all.

2) Visualize Positive Things

The things we focus on at times cause you to have negative visualizations. Visualization is one of the most powerful ability we have as it allows us to have a mental picture of what we would like to achieve. With our mind, we can visualize and see our goals as if they have already been accomplish, see yourself coming out of a bad situation, see yourself being healthy, see yourself married and having kids, see yourself having a successful business, overcoming a problem and so on. Create a clear, exciting picture of your goal and your ideal life, and replay this picture in your mind over and over.

Everything that is created was first created in the mind

3) Hang Around Positive People

Without us knowing, who we hang around influences us either in a negative or positive way. Les Brown said that we are the average of the 5 people we hang around often because the company you keep have a direct impact on your thinking without you realizing it.

Take a look at your friends; are they hindering you from being your best self? Are they helping you to grow and achieve your goals, or are they holding you back? Make a decision that the persons you are going to spend most of your time with are individuals who are positive and not people who will be like baggages. I am not in no way telling you to ignore or stop speaking to your friends that are negative, what I am saying is be careful of the garbage that you feed your mind on. Decide today to associate with winners, with positive people, with people who are happy and optimistic and who are going somewhere with their lives.

4) Feed Your Mind on Positive Things

You are what you eat. If you continue to feed your body on junk food, your body will not function up to its full capacity. In the same way, you become what you feed your mind upon continually. Just as your body is healthy to the degree to which you eat healthy, nutritious foods, your mind is healthy to the degree to which you feed it with “mental protein” rather than “mental candy.” Everyday you should feed your mind upon reading inspirational books, listening to inspirational audios and watch motivational videos. Attend workshops and seminars instead of going to places that will only feed your mind upon junk food.

While on your way to work, listen to positive, constructive CDs and audio programs in your car and on your MP3 player or iPod. Everyday you should continually feed your mind with positive messages that help you think and act better and make you more capable and competent in your field. Again, watch positive and educational DVDs, educational television programs, take online courses, and other uplifting material that increases your knowledge and makes you feel good about yourself and your life. Jim Rohn said that you should work harder in developing yourself more than you work on your job. When you work hard on developing yourself, you will be able to add more value to your career or job.

5) Positive Training And Development

To grow to your full potential, you have to keep learning and developing, and putting what you learn into practice. Make a choice that you are going to continually want to develop yourself. That is the only way you are going to rise to your full potential

Making a decision to keep learning will help you to improve your life, takes you from rags to riches, from poverty to affluence, and from underachievement to success and financial independence.

Jim Rohn said, ”Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”

Dedicate your life to be a continuous learning so you can be better and more effective in your thoughts and actions.

6) Have A Healthy Body

If you have all the money in the world and you cannot live to enjoy it then it does not make any sense. You have to take care of your body so that you can live to enjoy all the beauties in life and able to see your children grow up to become the person they were born to be. Starting today, start taking excellent care of your physical health and wellness. How you do this is by eating healthy foods, eat sugary and fatty foods sparingly and in proper balance. A nutritional diet will have an immediate, positive effect on your thoughts and feelings.

Resolve that you are going to get regular exercise, at least 3-5 hours per week. You can do this through walking, running, swimming, bicycling, or working out on equipment in the gym. Exercising on a regular basis will make you feel happier and healthier and experience lower levels of stress and fatigue than a person who sits on the couch and watches television all evening.

Don’t forget to get ample rest and relaxation. You need to recharge your batteries on a regular basis, especially when you are going through periods of stress or difficulty.

7) Have Positive Expectations

The law of attraction tells us that whatever we focus on, that is what we will attract as whatever we focus that is what we will go after. Putting the law of attraction in practice is one of the most powerful techniques you can use to become a positive person and to ensure positive outcomes and better results in your life. Your expectations become your own self-fulfilling prophesies.

If you expect failure, that is what you will attract, failure. If you focus on all the negative things that are happening in your life, your life will be negative.

But…..

If you constantly focus on positive things, expecting positive things, you will attract positivity to your life.

Expect to be successful.

Expect to be popular when you meet new people. Expect to achieve great goals and create a wonderful life for yourself. When you constantly expect good things to happen, you will seldom be disappointed.

In closing……..

Make a decision that you are going to live a positive life, that you are going to become the best version of yourself.
